Sri Lanka welcomes over 700,000 tourists in first quarter of 2025

A total of 722,276 tourist arrivals were recorded during the first three months of 2025, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
The SLTDA revealed that India was the top source market, contributing 39,212 tourists, followed by Russia with 29,177 arrivals.
Sri Lanka welcomed the highest number of tourists in the first week of March, with 53,113 arrivals recorded.
In addition, tourists arrived from countries such as Australia, the United States, China, France, and Germany.
A significant increase in tourist arrivals was recorded in March, with a total of 229,298 tourists visiting the country.
