Electricity Amendment Bill inconsistant with the Constitution

 The Supreme Court has determined that the Electricity Amendment Bill is inconsistant with the Constitution as a whole and can be passed by a special mejority in Parliament, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena announced today. 

 

He said  the Supreme Court has also determined that inconsistancy could be done away with if the Bill is amended as per the proposals made by the summary of its determination.
