Winners of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Medicine are announced

The 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine will be awarded to David Julius and Ardham Pataputian for "discovering receptors for temperature and touch".

"Our ability to perceive heat, cold and touch is essential for our survival and strengthens our interaction with the world around us," the Nobel Conference said in a statement.
