US envoy says a transparent investigation is needed into the Rambukkana shooting

US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung has called for a full-fledged investigation into the police shooting death of a man during a riot in Rambukkana.

Commenting on her official Twitter account, the US envoy stressed the need for the people to exercise their right to peaceful protest.

The U.S. envoy also called for restraint and calm on all sides.
