Two night mail trains cancelled after “Yal Devi” derails

 

The Sri Lanka Railways said that the "Yaldevi" express train running from Kankasanture to Colombo derailed yesterday afternoon (Nov. 05) at Punewa area.

According to reports, two coaches of the train and the locomotive derailed.

Due to this, the railway traffic on the northern route has been disrupted and the railway tracks have also been damaged.

The Railway Department of Sri Lanka further states that necessary measures are being taken to restore the train running on the northern route.
