SL Army to take over printing of Driving License

Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, presided over a conference on the possibility of taking over the printing and issuing process of the Driving Licence of the Department of Motor Traffic, on September 15.

 

As per the recommendations provided by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the Cabinet reached a decision to hand over the printing process of the Driving Licence to the Army , on the 1st of July 2020.

 

The above process is currently being managed by a private company.

 

The overall process of  transferring the project is anticipated  to be completed by the 1st of January 2021.
