Repatriations to resume on Friday

Sri Lanka will resume the repatriation of Sri Lankan nationals stranded overseas owing to the COVID-19 pandemic on July 31, stated the the Presidential Secretariat.

 

The repatriation of Sri Lankans was temporitly halted recently as  a new cluster of individuals who tested positive for novel coronavirus was detected from the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Centre. 

 

The Additional Secretary to the President for Foreign Relations, Prof. Jayanath Colombage stated that a group of Sri Lankans will be repatriated from Dubai on July 31 and August 1. 

 

Colombage added that the process in relation to the repatriation will be carried out as per the recommendations from the health authorities and Sri Lanka Army.
