Registration of coconut estates made compulsory

The Government has made it compulsory for owners of coconut plantations to register themselves with the Coconut Development Authority. 

“Registration has been mandatory to get correct data on coconut plantations, plan future development programs, and study the crop yields of the sector. The data will also be used to protect plantations,” said the Government Information Department.
