Preparations are underway to end the local cricket ban on bubble breakers

The blanket ban on Kusal Mendis, Niroshan Dickwella and Danushka Goonetileke due to bursting the biosecurity bubble during their tour of England in July this year will be partially lifted today.

The three cricketers have been given a one-year ban from international cricket and a six-month local cricket ban following the posting on social media of videos in a public area in Durham beyond the bio-safety bubble limit of the tour.

However, the Sri Lanka Cricket Management Committee will consider lifting their local ban, allowing them to return to competitive cricket in next month's Major League 50s tournament, thereby qualifying them for the Ceylon Premier League (LPL) Player Draft.
