Over 18,000 people affected due to bad weather in Sri Lanka

 

The Disaster Management Center (DMC) says that at least 18,219 people from 4,271 families have been affected due to the prevailing inclement weather conditions. 

The Department of Meteorology says that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Northern provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. 

Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm may be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
