New Court of Appeal president and Supreme Court judge sworn in

 

The President of the Court of Appeal, Judge K.P. Fernando, has taken the oath as a Supreme Court judge in the presence of President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Fort President's House.

Meanwhile, Judge Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne of the Court of Appeal was sworn in as the new President of the Court of Appeal before the President, while Judge of the High Court of PMD M.A.R. Marikkar also took the oath of office as a judge of the Court of Appeal before President Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Palace.

The announcement further states that Justice Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, President's Secretary Saman Ekanayake, and officers including three armed forces commanders were present on the occasion.
