Maha Sangha's opposition to Joseph Starling's request

 

Yesterday, the Maha Sangharatna responded to the request made by Joseph Starling, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers' Union, to provide an opportunity for teachers to come to schools in comfortable clothes. 

The general secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union had made the request to the secretary of the Ministry of Education, applying the circular issued by the Ministry of Public Administration regarding the uniforms of government officials to school teachers.
