Independent MPs table a motion to amend the new constitution

Recently, a motion to amend the 21st Amendment to the Constitution was handed over to Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena on behalf of the 40 Independent Members of Parliament.

Its purpose is to repeal the 20th Amendment to the Constitution and to reintroduce the democratic features of the 19th Amendment.
