IGP issues statement on Rambukkana protest shooting

Police in riot gear stormed a rally in Rambukkana on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck, police said.

Meanwhile, Secretary to the Ministry of Defense Jagath de Alwis said that steps would be taken to conduct an investigation at the police headquarters to find out whether the police used excessive force in dispersing the protesters in the Rambukkana area.
