I didn't do anything wrong - Arundika

State Minister Arundika Fernando who wrote a controversial letter to the minister of public security to transfer senior police officer  Eric Perera has said that he has not done anything irregular.

 

Allegations of political interference have been  levelled against Fernando.

 

“I requested the officer to be transferred only after an investigation,” said the State Minister

 

The state minister told reporters yesterday that he requested an inquiry on the conduct of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Eric Perera to be followed by a transfer out of the Chilaw electorate.

 

Arundika Fernandooo said he has requested the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to investigate how the letter was leaked and to further inquire into allegations of misconduct leveled   against Perera.
