Focus on weather today

The Met Department warns that there could be 75 mm of showers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central Provinces and in some places in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Showers or thundershowers during the evening or night in the Uva Province and in the Ampara, Batticaloa and Mullaitivu districts and several spells of showers are also expected in the North Western Province.

The Met Department further states that strong winds of 40-50 kmph are expected in the western slopes of the Central Highlands, North Western Provinces and in the Hambantota District.
