Focus on weather today

Showers are expected in the North, North-Central, Eastern and Uva Provinces from the night of March 2 to March 4.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Matale district today.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Galle, Matara, Ratnapura, Kalutara and Nuwara Eliya districts during the evening or night.

In the Uva and North Western provinces and in the Batticaloa, Ampara, Hambantota and Matale districts wind speeds may increase up to 40 kmph at times.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate measures to minimize the dangers posed by temporary strong winds and lightning in those areas during thundershowers.
