Covid vaccination program to change from Saturday

Acting Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hematha Herath  stated that a decision has been reached to restrict the COVID-19 vaccination programme to prioritize those who are aged above 60 years from March 13, by the Health authorities. 

 

He also added that those who are aged over 60 are vulnerable to  being hospitalized after contracting the virus, and the vaccination will be conducted with aim of decreasing the death toll and hospitalization of the same age group.
