Church Turn's down police request to hand over report

A Catholic Church organization has refused to provide a copy of a document with sensitive information to the Police. The Centre for Society and Religion (CSR) said to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)  that it is not in position to hand over a copy of the report on the Easter Sunday attacks given to the center by a delegation of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MPs this week.

 

CSR Executive Director Rev Fr Rohan Silva said on Friday that the report has to be handed over to the Catholic Bishops.. Chief Opposition Whip Lakshma Kiriella, has claimed that the report it handed over contained “the vital information that had been concealed by the Government.”
