CID arrests son of businessman involved in garlic scam

The CID has arrested the son of a 25-year-old businessman from Bambalapitiya in connection with the garlic scam at Lanka Sathosa, police spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said.

 

He is the son of a businessman who fraudulently bought garlic from Lanka Sathosa and the suspect will be prosecuted for preparing fraudulent documents and aiding and abetting the fraud, the spokesman said.
