Bus with school children caught in accident in Thalaimannar, one child killed

A bus carrying schoolchildren was hit by a train in Thalaimannar killing a nine  year old studnt and injuring 20 others, Police said.

 

Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajith Rohana said police are investigating whether it was the negligence of the driver and conductor.

 

However, they are also checking whether the gate was not closed at the time of the accident.   

 

The driver and the conductor have been placed under police custody.
