Bathiudeen's father-in-law loses bail

The father-in-law of MP Rishad Bathiudeen, who was remanded in connection with the death of a slave girl, has had his bail application rejected by a court.

The lawyer had made the request through a motion, saying the suspect was infected with the covid virus.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Lochani Abeywickrema denied the request and said that a remand prisoner could not be granted bail just because he was infected with covid.
