All government schools in the Jaffna district were closed today

The Jaffna District Secretary said that all government schools in the Jaffna District will be closed today due to inclement weather.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy showers of more than 150 mm are expected in the Northern, North Western, Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in some places in the Anuradhapura, Trincomalee, Nuwara Eliya and Kandy Districts.
