A power plant in Norochcholai has collapsed

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has informed Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera about an industrial breakdown at a power plant in Norochcholai.

The national grid will lose 270 megawatts of capacity due to the breakdown.

He assured that the power plant would be connected to the national grid within five days.

However, he added that the power outage will not be extended due to the prevailing situation.
