41 new patients of Omicron variety are reported from Sri Lanka

Dr. Chandima Jeewandara, Director, Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, says that Sri Lanka has identified 41 new patients with the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 (B.1.1.529).

Accordingly, the total number of Omicron patients confirmed so far by the laboratory of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura has increased to 45.
