19 covid deaths in Karapitiya in 48 hours

Dr. Shelton Perera, Acting Director of the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, Galle said that 19 deaths due to covid infection have been reported from the hospital during the past 24 hours.

Thirteen of the victims died while being treated at the hospital, while the other six died at home, the director added.

PCR tests after the deaths of six people in the home confirmed that covid was infected.
