Two Sri Lankan films are recognized at the Rotterdam International Film Festival

 

Two films produced by Sri Lankans have been recognized at the 2023 International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).

Sri Lanka's Visakesa Chandrasekram's 'Munnel' has won the Special Jury Award at IFFR 2023.

The film was awarded the Special Jury Award, describing it as “a brilliantly simple story about a young man caught between revolution and totalitarianism.” The IFFR announced the competition winners for its 52nd edition yesterday (03) at its awards ceremony in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The event revealed its main competition winners in the Tiger and Big Screen competitions as well as the winners of the FIPRESCI, NETPAC and KNF awards.
