VIP posers misusing Police security

The Sri Lanka Police has noticed that certain individuals who were provided security due to threat assessments are misusing their security details to present themselves as important figures. 

 

 

Police Spokesperson SSP Attorney Nihal Thalduwa highlighted that such actions not only endanger the person with threats, but also put police officers at risk. 

 

 

The Police has cautioned individuals against this behavior and instructed officers to adhere to guidelines. 

 

 

Security is allocated based on threat assessments, and those with genuine threats receive protection, while misuse of security resources for personal gain is being addressed through security reviews.
