Operation Sindoor - Indian High Commission in Colombo issues statement

The Indian High Commission in Colombo has issued a statement following the launch of 'Operation Sindoor' by the Indian Armed Forces, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. 

 

The operation was carried out in response to cross-border terrorist activities directed at India.

 

According to the statement, nine sites were targeted during the operation.

 

"Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and the method of execution," the High Commission stated.

 

The statement also referenced the Pahalgam terrorist attack, in which 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen were killed, as the immediate trigger for the military response.

 

"These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable," the statement added.
