Vedda chief raises concerns about arresting ‘Aragalaya’ activists

Uru Warige Vannila Vato, the leader of Sri Lanka's indigenous (Vedi) community, says that it is regrettable that young people involved in the struggle protest movement are detained and subjected to physical and mental torture.

Calling a press conference in Dambana Kotabakiniya village, Uruvari's Vannila Vauto asked the authorities to reconsider the detention of Mr. Wasantha Mudalige, a prominent activist of the 'Aragalaya' protest movement.
