Police obtain court order for student protest march

The Colombo Fort Police today (May 21) obtained an order from the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court against the protest march organized by HND students.

According to the court order, HND students have been barred from entering several roads including York Street, Bank Street, Chaitya Road, Lower Chatham Street, Leiden Bastian Road, Sir Baron Jayatilake Mawatha, Mudalige Mawatha, Hospital Road and Canal Road.

They also call for a moratorium on violence and other illegal activities, as well as for any state institution or official residence in the Colombo Fort Police Division to be held in a manner that does not harm or obstruct the duties of officers in the area.
