Spa therapist earn more than executive staff : survey

Sri Lanka’s female therapist working in Spa around the country earn much higher than experienced executives in private companies, a recent survey has revealed. The average monthly earnings range from Rs 200,000 to 250,000, the survey carried out by following local newspaper advertisements.

 

The survey revealed that even untrained trained therapist were being offered well over Rs 150,000 monthly. The organisations offering jobs say persons could work full time or even part-time. Some of them offer the option of selecting suitable times, even at night.

 

Most of them offer food and lodging in addition to other perks. All of them claim they were “Ayurvedic’ spas.

 

One of them said they were recruiting to work in branches such as Ratnapura, Habarana, Nugegoda, Mahiyanganaya, Galle or Piliyandala. The survey has compared the salaries with other employment opportunities available in the current market and found that the salaries were much higher than those offered to other qualified persons including graduates.
